What's your role at Ellie?

Director of Laboratory Development. I am the Product Owner of our new Nova platform. As Product Owner, I act as a key role in the field of product management, primarily associated with Agile software development methodologies. I serve as the liaison between the development team and stakeholders, responsible for maximizing the value of the product being developed.

Tell us about yourself.

I grew up in Allen, TX where I attended Allen Highschool. After high school, I attended Oklahoma State University to study Microbiology and Cell and Molecular Biology. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Microbiology and Cell and Molecular Biology in 2020 where my research was predominantly in theoretical metabolomics of specialized microbiomes in the pursuit to find organisms that can degrade specific oil pollution derived compounds.

After graduation, I worked as a Clinical Research Associate who serves as the main boots-on-the-ground individual to review and certify data produced from a clinical trial at hospitals and clinics all around the country.

I transitioned to Ellie Diagnostics in the summer of 2021 and have been here ever since! I have since found myself wearing a plethora of hats from lab manager, architect, interior designer, to now Product Owner of the revolutionary digital platform, Nova.

What is your favorite part about working at Ellie?

I can very easily point to the fact that every day comes as a new adventure. There is no end to the experience I am gaining working on a multitude of projects simultaneously. I am extremely fulfilled in what I do and what is expected of me. The best part of new adventures is working with all sorts of people from all departments across Ellie Diagnostics. I really appreciate the positive culture we have instilled here at Ellie Diagnostics and I look forward to working with anyone on a day to day basis.

Can you give us the inside scoop on Nova?

Nova will revolutionize how we do and create business. With its core engine at our disposal, we can segment the platform to expand our business horizons. We have worked to build a solid foundation for a digital platform to potential transform and evolve as time goes on. I would urge everyone to stay tuned for additional updates, releases, and patch notes as we continue to build upon the platform.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I have a large mixture of hobbies all ranging from 3D printing and model design, cooking and baking, gardening, and most recently amateur wood working. For all of these hobbies, I take the “a jack of all trades is a master of none” mindset and work to enjoy whatever I am doing.
