Kelly Del Grosso
We sat down with Lab Technician ll, Kelly Del Grosso, to learn more about her and why she loves working at Ellie.
What's your role at Ellie?
Lab Technician II. I work in the urinalysis and hematology departments. My duties include running full urinalyses, running complete blood counts, and completing technician slide reviews.
Tell us about yourself.
I have known since I was little that I wanted to work with animals. I attended Western Kentucky University for my undergraduate degrees, and double majored in Biology and Spanish. I then started my career in veterinary medicine working at an animal hospital close to my hometown of Louisville. I returned to school to study veterinary technology, and got my license as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Ellie expanded to Louisville as I was looking to expand my career, and I joined the team earlier this summer.
What's your favorite food?
Candy. It's one of the four major food groups, right?
Where is your favorite place on Earth?
Merida, Mexico. I studied abroad in Merida for a semester in college and I had the most amazing experiences there!
What is your favorite part about working at Ellie?
Knowing that even though we don't get to see patients everyday, we are still able to contribute to keeping them happy and healthy.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
I enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending time with friends, family, and my two dogs outside of work. I also enjoy taking weekly boxing classes and finding new ways to stay active.

"It is incredibly important that veterinarians are able to trust that they are getting accurate lab results as quickly as possible. I have seen how this affects patient treatment plans while working in an animal hospital, which is why Ellie's commitment to providing efficient and precise results is so remarkable to me. The fact that Ellie also tailors services to their clients fosters positive relationships with veterinary staff, which helps clinics run smoother and in turn, help more pets."
